Residential Support Worker

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as **Residential Support Worker** at our home based in Lewes.
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing care, support, and guidance to children and young people in our residential homes. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the children under your care.
**Responsibilities**:
- Building positive relationships with children and young people, promoting a sense of trust and security.
- Providing practical support and assistance with daily activities, including meal preparation, education and household tasks.
- Organising and participating in recreational and educational activities to promote social development and personal growth.
- Supporting children and young people in maintaining relationships with their families and significant others.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals, such as social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers, to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the care and progress of each child.
**Requirements**:
- Senior only - Minimum of a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential care setting or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of child development and the impact of trauma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
- An understanding of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
