**Catering assistant**

We are recruiting for 2x Catering Assistants based in a School canteen.

**You will be required to assist with the following duties**:
Preparing of food; including hot meals sandwiches, snacks and desserts

day to day running of kitchen and catering operations

stock control to ensure full menu availability

minimise food waste.

preparing menus

clearing tables in the dining room

high standards of customer care in the quality of the cooking and the presentation of food.

under own initiative to prepare and serve simple meals e.g. at breakfast or teatime

Keeping of records in relation to Health & Safety, Food Safety and other relevant policy and regulations.

keeping the kitchen environment clean at all times, including washing all kitchen & catering equipment, surfaces, floors etc.

Adhering to all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety policy and regulations.

Working as part of a team to create a pleasant and productive environment to work in.

**Shift times**:
Day Shift - 11:00am-14:30pm

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 3 months experience within the last 5 years (essential)
- Knowledge of food hygiene (essential)
- Knowledge of dietary requirements (essential)
- Good level of English both verbal and written (Essential)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Positive work attitude
- Provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK

**Safeguarding Responsibilities**

St Andrews is committed to its responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students in line with government recommendations and policies. Due to this, all staff at the college have a responsibility for safeguarding and reporting any concerns regarding students to the DSL. All staff will undergo appropriate training.
