This post is a 12 month training post at the University of Northumbria to complete a Post-Graduate Diploma in evidence based psychological therapy (CBT).

We are passionate about developing excellent practitioners and equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective
evidence based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for
children and young people with anxiety and/or depressive
disorders.
As part of the Children and Young Peoples' Improving Access
to Psychological Therapy (CYP-IAPT) initiative, this programme
aims to transform existing mental health services for children
and young people by supporting new and existing
practitioners to become competent CBT therapists.
Practitioners will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge
& understanding, professional skills & abilities and personal
values required of competent and effective CBT practitioners.
Entry to the programme is through employment with RDASH, Mental Health Support Teams.

During the programme, practitioners will learn how to assess and
treat children and young people who present with anxiety
and/or low mood/depression using CBT.

The course is taught over one year and will include a mix of
university contact (eg. lectures, tutorials) independent study
and contact with children, young people and their families.
