The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.
Based within the Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology, ICON has around 20 people including staff, visiting researchers and students, funded by various sources including UK Charities, Research Councils and the EU. Our research focuses on understanding inequalities in cancer outcomes and aims to provide evidence and recommendations to tackle them. We work with stakeholder groups such as patient representatives and clinicians to ensure our research is meaningful, relevant and has impact.
The postholder will carry out a range of administrative duties to support the group, including managing group resources, providing support for meetings and assisting with travel arrangements, as well as specific project administrative duties such as research costings and ensuring/supporting adherence to funders’ terms and conditions.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience of project/research administration. Proven experience of providing support for meetings/events and making travel arrangements is essential. The postholder will be proactive and able to demonstrate their ability to understand processes, prioritise effectively and work well independently and as part of a team. This role is part-time 17.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE (those wishing to work a minimum of 0.4FTE will also be considered), fixed term for 12 months with potential for extension based on funding with an immediate start date.
