Lecturer in Catering

**Lecturer in Catering & Hospitality Responsibilities**:
(including, but not limited to)
- Formal scheduled catering & hospitality teaching, to include some evenings (max 2 per week) and the occasional weekend day
- Tutorials / Progress Reviews and student assessment
- Management of learning programmes and curriculum development
- Student admissions and induction
- Educational guidance
- Preparation of learning materials and student assignments
- Marking of students’ work
- Marking of examinations
- Management and supervision of student visit programmes
- Research and other forms of scholarly activity related to the effective delivery of the curriculum
- Marketing activities including Open Evenings to recruit learners
- Consultancy with external organisations
- Administration and organisational activities
- Personal professional development
- Development of workshop materials
- Liaise with vocational and Maths and English tutors

**Lecturer in Catering & Hospitality Requirements**:
Essential
- Appropriate Level 5 teaching qualification, i.e. Cert. Ed. or equivalent
- Assessors Award
- Verifiers Award, or willingness to gain this within 2 years of appointment
- Literacy and Numeracy qualifications to at least Level 2 / equivalent
- Experience of running a RWE production kitchen and/or Restaurant in a calm and professional manner with learners of all levels
- Experience of the requirements of a commercial business with reduced wastage and increased profitability throughout the department’s food outlets Experience of designing and delivering own menus/specifications including ordering and costings where needed

Desirable
Experience of collaboration with industry and/or educational organisations/establishments, including competition work

**Salary**: £22,865pa to £34,530 per annum
