**Overview**

This role will include:

- Preparing dogs to specification, ready to be groomed by the stylist, tasks include: bathing, drying, nail clipping and rough trimming
- Learning and following direction from a grooming trainer
- Assist in ensuring excellent salon presentation is maintained and high standards are kept through cleanliness, safety and good standards of housekeeping
- Hours are: 9.15am to 6pm with 30 min lunch, Tuesday to Saturday

**Desired Skills & Personal Qualities**:

- Experience working and handling dogs in a professional grooming environment, preferable
- Have experience working in a fast paced environment
- Have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with doggy parents

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Maths & English GCSE's

**Training**
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
