We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and strategically-minded individual to work with us as a Senior Publisher. Reporting to the Head of Journals Development, you’ll be a key member of the Journals Publishing team, alongside three other SeniorPublishers. You’ll be responsible forthe performance of the Bio & Environmental Science portfolio of journals which includes overseeing journals and commissioning strategy, managing resources and budgets, as well as line management of the journals portfolioteam.

You will develop portfolio
- and journal-level strategies and motivate the team to deliver the commissioning plans, achieving sustained growth and delivery of key targets. This will require advanced line management skills and the ability to forge a strongteam-working ethos, whilst focusing on individual team member development. You will have responsibility for managing team member resource across your portfolio and will ensure that plans and activities are commercial and delivered in line with business strategyand budget.

To inform and support the development of the journal portfolio’s editorial strategies, you will manage and establish strong working relationships with the journals’ Editorial Boards and continuously develop links with the journals’ author communities throughinternational conferences and institutional visits.

**About you**:
Applicants should demonstrate the following:

- An undergraduate degree or PhD, ideally in physical or life sciences domain;
- Significant STM Journals publishing experience, including journal article commissioning;
- Experience of managing and motivating a team;
- Experience of managing and maintaining financial budgets;
- Excellent communication skills;
- A collaborative approach to team management and to working with peers.
