Nights Operator

We now have an opportunity for a Nights Operator on a full time, permanent basis at our Teynham depot

Shift: Wednesday to Saturday(19:00 to 07:00)

**Salary**: £26,053-£29,168

Job Purpose:
To despatch and brief drivers, including the preparation of all delivery documentation. Working closely with Drivers, Warehouse team and Transport Operators to deliver a proactive despatch operation. Providing and recording of accurate and detailed informationfor use as direct instructions to drivers and for retrospective audit trail and investigation.

Main Responsibilities:
The role-holder will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:

- Ensuring accurate information is passed and understood by Drivers at point of despatch.
- Maintain contact with warehouse at all times to ensure 'On Time’ despatch is achieved.
- Maintain contact with warehouse at all times to ensure 'On Time’ despatch is achieved.
- Understand inbound volume in direct contact with local transport team. Use and control daily check sheet to trigger early warning of delays.
- Collate delivery documents and make up load summary envelopes for drivers, including the provision of temperature and information stickers and maps if required.
- Create load plan / gate pass documents for all departing Drivers.
- Managing live despatch on system screens
- Diminishing screen management - From un-despatched through to delivered. All screens managed to zero on a daily basis. Ensure all loading alterations are changed in Chainware.
- Maintain full compliance with ASN and OTM for Tesco.
- Check all load summary documents for accuracy and escalate any potential issues.
- Know the DOT performance requirements and despatch accordingly with this in mind.
- Maintain communication with all to inform of late running vehicles.
- Maintain and update the information white board - sub contractor availability, trailer information etc.
