**Disability Support Worker - Classroom Based**

Have you been working as a **Disability Support Worker** and are now seeking a fresh, start? This is a unique opportunity to transfer your skills in a **school-based role**, supporting children and young people aged **3-16**with **Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)**.

**About the Role**

As a **SEND Teaching Assistant**, you’ll be part of a close-knit team supporting pupils with a range of complex needs including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and communication challenges.

**Your day-to-day could include**:

- Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils to support learning and development
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, or feeding plans where needed (training provided)
- Using specialist tools such as **PECS**, **Makaton**, and **sensory regulation aids**:

- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and external professionals

**Who We’re Looking For**

You might come from a care, health, or community support background—but above all, you bring patience, resilience, and the drive to help young people thrive.

You’ll ideally have:

- Experience working with individuals with additional needs (children or adults)
- A **Level 2 qualification** in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or a related field
- A calm, positive, and flexible approach
- Confidence supporting behavioural, emotional, or communication needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
