We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our team at Deep Sea World - North Queensferry, Fife.

**Role Purpose**

As a Catering Assistant, you will typically be based at the Bridge Café at Deep Sea World. To assist in the running of the catering outlets in an efficient manner, offering excellent customer service, maximising sales and complying with all hygiene rules and regulations.

**Duties/ Responsibilities**
- To ensure the café area is clean and maintained to a high standard; following guidelines, opening/closing checklists and cleaning schedules
- Meeting and greeting visitors whilst delivering a high standard of customer service
- Taking food and drink orders using an electronic till
- Making fresh hot drinks using an automated machine and serving soft drinks
- Preparing food in the kitchen to the highest quality
- Help deliver birthday parties
- Preparing, cooking and baking food and beverage products to a high standard for our customers, whilst maintaining composure in a busy environment
- Learning and honing skill set vital to the catering industry to maintain a professional and efficient work environment
- Ensuring all HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) guidelines and H&S (Health & Safety) policies are followed correctly and safely
- Undergo training to help with basic culinary skills, for use within the kitchen area

- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a welcoming personality
- Capable of working efficiently under pressure with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Availability to work shifts including weekends, bank holidays and school holidays
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a continuously growing experience
- Knowledge of hygiene, health and safety and cash handling procedures
- Able to commute to any Deep Sea World in North Queensferry
- Flexibility to work across school holiday periods, weekends and weekdays
- Experience working in a similar catering/café outlet, making food and hot drinks to a high standard
