A major civil engineering contractor is recruiting a Senior Planner within their Rail Division. The business, who have a turnover of over £500m are currently working on and tendering projects up to £200m - including major rail and station upgrades, singleaction highways projects, runway extensions and more as the principal contractor.

The team need an experienced Senior Planner who can 'hit the ground running' with experience of working on large tenders and is already proficient with P6 Primavera. The role will be more favourable to someone with a technical background who has progressedfrom a Site Engineer or Manager into planning, ideally with a main contractor in civils projects.

In return they are offering flexibility in the role to work from home and attend their regional or head office once a week as well as when required for meetings with the client, project teams and senior management.

Senior Planner Duties include:

- Create and amend programmes using P6 Primavera from first principals (including resources, cost loading etc)
- Present programmes to the internal team and other stakeholders
- Work with pre-construction and delivery team to agree construction methodology
- Developing overall programmes, issuing to all relevant parties and input recommendations and amendments
- Produce tender programme for additional works
- Throughout construction work closely with the operations team to ensure the programme is maintained, updated and in accordance with the planned works
- Liaising with all stakeholders to identify risk
