**Role Overview**: As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide support, guidance, and mentorship to children and young people who may face challenges in their personal lives, education, or social interactions. Working closely with children, teachers, and other professionals, you will play a key role in fostering positive behaviour, helping young people make constructive choices, and creating a safe and supportive environment for all.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Provide practical support and guidance to help children manage their behaviour and emotions.
- Mentor and encourage positive decision-making and conflict resolution.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, social workers, and other staff to develop tailored support plans.
- Lead group activities, workshops, and interventions to help develop social and life skills.
- Safeguard and protect children at all times, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback on children’s development, adjusting approaches as needed.
- Support children in school settings and during extracurricular activities to promote engagement and positive outcomes.
- Previous experience in a correctional setting or with vulnerable individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and conflict resolution.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- A passion for supporting young people and making a positive impact on their lives.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A commitment to your own professional development and growth.
