Optical Trainer

**Mission: core purpose of this role**
To manage an optical lab which has 4 lab technicians.
To train prisoners on our course through an entry level qualification in Optical Practice Skills.
**Outcomes: define what must get done**
1. Train new lab technicians to make Single Vision spectacles so they are competent within 30 days
2. Organise workflow to optimise efficiency and make best use of time within 90 days of start date
3. Manage the production of 70-90 spectacles per day within 90 days of start date
4. Manage the stock levels of frames and lenses with support from the lab techs
5. Quality Control checks for all spectacles made on each day (70-90 units)

- 6. Deliver 4 courses per year - each course lasting 12 weeks per year
7. Deliver training to 32 prisoners per year - average 8 trainees per course.
8. Achieve at least 65% pass rate i.e. 65% of trainees pass the course

**About Us**
We train prisoners in spectacle making and retail optics and this helps them gain meaningful employment on release. We are the largest provider of eye tests and spectacles to prisoners across the UK. We are opticians with a passion for training prisoners in optics.
**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
