Sen Teaching Assistant
Children with SEN in both mainstream and SEN schools are receiving the adapted high standard of education that our teachers are providing on a daily basis. They still however require the additional support that will prioritise the focus on their needs and combine their education with their care to provide them with the best possible start in life. Being a SEN teaching assistant is much more rewarding and fulfilling than providing support with marking, planning or resourcing. You will work closely with children and young adults who find learning more difficult than others. You will be supporting those with minor and/or complex needs including dyslexia, physical disabilities, emotional or behavioural problems or epilepsy. Working closely with the teacher and other LSA’s will give you the best holistic approach to supporting all SEN students and enable you to witness the real difference and progress in their learning and development first hand.
As an LSA you will also be supporting the creation of a safe and enabling learning environment in the classroom. Since you’d be working with the students closely on a daily basis, you will be able to provide your observations and input in ensuring the provision and environment is providing the best potential for each student Depending on the needs of the students, you will be the one to help them walk on their own personalised educational path and support the opening of all doors of life-skills that the school is able to provide them with. Being an LSA requires a lot of passion, patience as well as team-work, therefore the ability to work in a group is essential. We want you to be confident to work towards the same goals with other professionals in the setting to ensure the safety and education of each student, after all - team work makes the dream work
Most importantly, alongside rewarding and fulfilling aspects of the role, you will also be greeted with a ton of fun activities You will be engaging in singing, cooking, dancing, painting, mark making, role playing and much, much more Throughout your day at the school you will be building and securing relationships with the students that will only benefit yourself in terms of your confidence in being a learning support assistant and the students in feeling safe with you to help them grow
Does this sound like a dream-career for you? There’s so much more to offer too We can offer you great pay starting from £75 per day that could reach up to £100 All working hours are within 8:30 to 3:30 allowing you to still have the evening to yourself and your family We can also facilitate full-time (Monday-Friday) and part-time (1-4 days a week) basis, letting you choose when you work. You also get to choose between long-term roles and short-term roles, where you are able to test the grounds and schools before you commit to go permanent if you wish
If this sounds like something you’d like to hear more about, feel free to get in touch with Callum on 01572 756888.
