The fixed term, part-time role is to provide maternity leave cover for the existing Head of Therapies for CAMHS. You will be working 18.75 hours per week over a period of 12 months.
The role involves working as part of the CAMHS Senior Management Team to provide professional and strategic leadership and professional responsibility for all Psychological professions (psychologists and associated psychological therapists, counsellors, CBT Therapists), Child Psychotherapists, Family Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers across CAMHS. The role has a combination of operational, professional leadership, strategic service planning and relationship management components as well as focus on corporate and clinical governance as well as performance and quality improvement for all professional disciplines outlined above.

Operational
To develop and maintain effective working relationships corporately and with the Professional and Divisional Leads around the delivery of AHP, social work, and psychological services.
To ensure that AHP, social work, and psychological therapies staff deliver high quality services that demonstrate the Trust values of Compassion, Respect, Empowerment, and Partnership.
To oversee the CAMHS professional leads, and ensure that goals are met including that all staff have an identified professional lead, receive appropriate training and support including professional review and PDPs.
Ensure all psychologists and AHPs have a job plan.
Through the professional leads, to support recruitment and retention and the reduction of use of agency and associated costs.
To lead on development of new roles, such as apprenticeships, within this area.
To hold and distribute specialised training grants for AHPs, social workers and psychological therapists.
To ensure that all local and national targets relating to AHP professionals/psychological therapies are delivered within a safe, high quality framework and to ensure that these groups are integral to CNWL’s improvement programmes.
To take part in the management and review of serious incidents involving AHP, social work, peer support and psychological therapy staff. This will include leading internal and external reviews of serious incidents and representing the Trust where required.
To ensure all policies and protocols relating to these groups is up to date and appropriate.
The postholder will maintain their own clinical practice and will be accountable for this in their professional area.
Relationship Management
To be the identified senior lead for AHPs, social work, peer support and psychology within the CAMHS.
To work with and support the heads of profession and, through them, AHPs, social work, peer support and psychological therapists across CAMHS.
To support positive relationships between the heads of profession and the various teams within CAMHS.
To develop and maintain effective relationships with external bodies e.g. with commissioners, professional bodies, service user and carer groups.
To maintain awareness of the R&D agenda, linking with the Director of R&D as required.
To lead on relevant work with Health Education England and linked HEIs to ensure sufficient placement capacity, development of curricula and other related training programmes and any associated education/training bids.
