Junior Retail Consultant

Brown’s Natural Pet Store is a specialist pet destination, with stores in Goring and Ferring. We are a company inspired by all things natural, offering a healthy and holistic approach to a pets well-being. Our business was founded in 2008, and over the last 15 years has grown to become one of the South Coasts most popular pet stores. In 2018 we re-branded and opened our flagship store in Ferring, winning Retailer of the Year at the Worthing and Adur Business Awards to finish off an amazing first 6 months. We are a family run independent business, and currently have a 16 person team across two stores and our warehouse.

At Brown’s we put customer service and a pets welfare above everything, and for this reason we are searching for an individual that can demonstrate outstanding communication skills and a flexible approach to working within either of our busy stores.

Primarily we need dynamic people that want to work in our store environments, giving outstanding advice and guidance to our pet parents, both in person, online and over the phone.

You should be proactive, energetic, willing to listen, learn and be business minded with an enthusiastic and fun loving nature. We work hard and play hard and expect you to enjoy your job, looking forward to every shift. As well as the usual retail daily tasks, you will have the opportunity to get involved in events we put on such as puppy parties and charity initiatives. You will be required to assist with fitting a collar or harness or be asked to help design a new window display or promotional stand, so you can expect this role to be much more than scanning products and stacking shelves

Our current close knit, friendly team, come from a wide range of backgrounds, and whilst retail and pet industry experience is favourable, we have no issue with employing someone looking to change sectors or establish a new career with us, provided they are both a pet lover and hungry and motivated to win Above all, we are seeking someone that can help us continue our exemplary customer care reputation and help us develop new and lasting relationships, as we treat all our customers and their pets as part of the family.

Willingness to work weekends is essential although shift patterns can be flexible.

Applicants must be diligent, show excellent attention to detail, have exceptional customer service skills and be physically fit, as this part of the role will require a fair amount of heavy lifting.
