**Design Technician**
**Location**: Forres, IV36 2GW.
**Salary**: £19,000 - £25,000 per annum DOE.
**Contract**: Full time, permanent.
James Jones & Sons Ltd is one of the UK's largest and most progressive timber companies with core activities in sawmilling, I-Joist and pallet manufacture. In addition, we are the market leaders in the supply of JJI-Joists to many of the UK’s top house builders.Having recently expanded our engineered timber processing facilities at Forres, we are looking for two additional Design Technicians to join our team.
**What we need from you**
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate good communication and graphical skills, a sound understanding of architectural drawings and current UK building practice, specifically engineered timber floor construction and design. A minimum of sixmonths independent design experience is required to demonstrate competence. Training will be provided on the relevant software.
Desirable skills: A sound knowledge of structural engineering principals and specifically timber engineering would be useful. Applicants with no direct floor design experience may be considered if they have previous, recent experience of trussed rafter, timberframe design or other relevant construction design experience.
An attractive remuneration package including an enhanced company pension scheme is available. Salary will be determined by skill and experience.
