Manchester, United Kingdom Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Consultant contract at North Manchester General Hospital Emergency Department working in the Paediatric Emergency Department.

We are keen to attract a dynamic and high calibre dedicated specialist Paediatric Emergency Medicine consultant from either an Emergency Medicine or Paediatric background as we believe that both training routes provide complimentary expertise.

We are moving forwards with a whole new hospital build and as such there is a huge opportunity to be able to define what our service will be in the future new hospital and help shape the new department and models of care.

Currently we have 1 WTE PEM consultant and 8 WTE adult EM consultants who cover the on call rota. We offer an annualised self-roster and are happy to accommodate flexible job plans to suit your own portfolio or work life balance needs.

To provide clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of high quality family focussed care to all children and young people presenting to the Paediatric Emergency Department. Also, a large focus on building on the current service and developing new models of care to align with our new hospital.

We’re also excited to be embarking on our new Green Plan which will set out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable and tackling climate change.

Join us and you’ll work with some of the best people in the NHS, thriving in a Trust united in its values, purpose and commitment to our patients and a drive for continual innovation and improvement.

COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not currently a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. If you are unvaccinated, there is helpful advice and information available by searching on the ‘NHS England’ website where you can also find out more about how to access the vaccination.

Diversity Matters

We’re looking forward to hearing from you
