**Trainee Psychologist - HMP**

**Role Overview**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a **Trainee Psychologist** to work within **HMP**. This role offers a chance to develop professional experience under the supervision of a **Registered Forensic Psychologist**, contributing to the delivery of psychological services in a **rehabilitative and restorative** prison environment.
As a **Trainee Psychologist**, you will support offenders on their journey to rehabilitation, assisting with **risk assessments, psychological interventions, and professional reports**. This is a **structured developmental role**, providing the experience needed to progress towards registered status.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct **risk and clinical assessments** under supervision
- Assist in **Parole Board reports and hearings**:
- Support the **delivery of accredited offender rehabilitation programs**:
- Develop bespoke **formulation-driven psychological interventions**:
- Participate in **prisoner case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings**:
- Contribute to **staff training and group supervision sessions**:
- Undertake **research and data collection** to improve service delivery
**Requirements**:
- **Degree in Psychology**, meeting **Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC)** with the **British Psychological Society (BPS)**:
- Completion of the **academic component of training** towards registered status (e.g., BPS-accredited MSc in Forensic Psychology)
- **Registration with a professional body**, such as the **BPS**:
- Experience working with **individuals in challenging environments**:
- Strong **analytical and communication skills**:
- Ability to work **independently and within a team**
**Desirable Experience**
- Work experience within the **criminal justice system** or related settings
- Confidence in **group work, training delivery, and risk assessments**:
- Previous experience conducting **psychological interventions**
