**JOB PURPOSE**

To be the liaising between customers, both internal and external. List in order of priority, the major activities, or functions necessary to achieve the job’s end results.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- To assist with the investigation and resolution of a wide range of highway management problems delivering solutions through the relevant programmes.
- To use initiative and judgement to overcome often-complex problems, including emergencies; where often there are no set procedures to follow to overcome potentially dangerous and hazardous situations on the highway.
- Taking of calls, co-ordinating and communicating urgent problems and issues on the Highway.
- Provide timely and informative responses in person or by other means of communication to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure that health and safety legislation, policy and best practice is fully complied with across the service and health and safety management across the company is supported.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Good interpersonal skills with a high level of personal drive. Acts as an advocate for change, projecting confidence about the future and building energy within the team.
- A high level of competency to deal with difficult customers on the telephone or face to face.
- Demonstrates flexibility and can adapt thinking to meet the changing business needs.
- The ability to investigate issues from all viewpoints to achieve positive outcomes.

**Job Type**: Temporary contract

**Salary**: £13.00 per hour
