**Space Planner**
**This role will require weekly travel to sites in and around the Southeast plus Tuesdays in our Northampton hub**
**What will you do?**
As a Space Planner, you will be responsible for planning new branches, refits and traffic schemes for our group businesses.
**Some accountabilities of the role**:
- Produce high quality autocad drawings across multiple briefs and projects- Improve safety by designing the risk out with layout and line marking, including traffic management and implementing the high level of safety standards we set.- Drive sales and profit per sq ft by optimising the best utilisation of space from a new build feasibility to racking/storage solutions.- Improve the customer experience and speed of service through understanding the customer journey and deploying the business design principles- Work closely with all business units including hire, commercial & merchandising functions to ensure that all opportunities and trends are factored in. Taking into account local conditions, specialisms and operational knowledge with branch and regional teams.- Continually communicate the benefits of space planning, giving guidance and recommendations to our colleagues across the board.- Attend site meetings to understand the local level operational requirements, such as product placement and line marking and present solutions to the local Regional Director reinforced with justified business reasoning.- Survey of existing and new estates to build up the CAD library to include existing racking and product placements in warehouses, shops & yards.- Working with the construction and facilities project managers to reduce costs through design without compromising on operational needs of the business.-
- Attend new sites pre opening to support with questions during the stocking period at the branch.
