**Job description**:
The Business Investment Directorate’s Grant Delivery Team helps deliver major business grant and funding programmes, focused on economic shocks and leading Britain's recovery. The team brings together expertise in delivering major programmes, including policy delivery, programme, financial, and partnership management, analysis, and engagement and communications. During Covid 19 the team were responsible for working with over 300 Local Authorities to deliver grant schemes valued at nearly £27bn to local businesses. Following the successful delivery and closure of the schemes the team are now focused on reconciliation, assurance and debt recovery activity.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work on new and emerging high-profile initiatives as part of a support package recently announced by Government to meet the rising cost of living, including supporting the £12bn Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS) which will provide all domestic electricity customers with a grant to help with their bills.

The BID Grant Delivery Team will work with partners to support them to successfully deliver our schemes. The team are responsible for developing scheme guidance, delivering the grant payment and reconciling funds, assuring data, and ensuring accurate reporting is provided. For EBSS the team will work closely with Ofgem (The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets - the Government energy regulator for Great Britain) on compliance and enforcement.

- Visible inclusive leadership & line management in line with the Civil Service leadership statement and BEIS priorities, working collaboratively across boundaries and teams.
- Supporting the delivery activities of the Assurance Team.
- Maintaining scheme grant assurance guidance, including drafting guidance text for post
- payment assurance system checks on funding.
- Supporting a range of assurance processes, reporting and audit preparation.
- Liaising with external contractors engaged to ensure assurance checks are completed in line with agreed milestones.
- Supporting the delivery of the department’s assurance process, sample checks and deep dives, including analysis of funding awarded at the transactional level.
- Raising queries with delivery partners to address data discrepancies and/or data quality issues via collaborative engagement with our Relationship Managers
- Flagging items for further investigation, conducting follow-up activity and maintaining a record of outcomes.
- Supporting wider assurance activities, including required preparation and input to NAO and GIAA audits.
