For children and young people facing barriers to learning through circumstance, learning difficulties and challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond, and that’s what The Rubicon Centre Team aim to provide. We are looking to appoint a motivated, resilient and patient and HLTA. Understanding of an SEMH setting would be a distinct advantage.

**You will**:

- Have experience working with students with challenging behaviour
- Have a caring and nurturing approach with children/young adults
- To develop positive relationships with pupils to assist pupil progress and attainment.
- Be flexible, patient, committed and able to use initiative
- Work effectively as part of a team
- To fulfil the role of a pastoral tutor in a key stage or year group as required
- Have the ability to support the delivery of all areas of the curriculum, including taking responsibility for small groups
- Be able to support either individuals or small groups of pupils within or outside the class.
- Adapt learning to ensure it suits the needs of the pupils.
- Have GCSE Mathematics and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, receptive to change and able to work under pressure.
- The ability to support KS3 and KS4 pupils up to GCSE standard
- Proven classroom ability and practice
- Experience of and a sound understanding of how assessment is used to support learning
- A good knowledge of strategies for supporting an ethos of positive behaviour management
