**HEAD OF DATA**

**CITY OF LONDON**

**£120,000 + BONUS + BENEFITS**

Head of Data required to join the CIOs leadership team to help deliver data strategy. Role inclusive of delivery and execution, stakeholder value, business performance, tooling and governance.

**Insurance background necessary**

The Head of Data is a member of the CIO's leadership team, responsible for the evolution and execution of data strategy.

**Role deliverables**

**Strategy -**_Provide thought leadership and champion the data agenda at all levels of the organisation, exploring initiatives that will help the organisation benefit from data._

**Delivery and execution** - _Work across the organisation to realise the data strategy_

**Stakeholder value** - _Ensure the data strategy serves the lines of business and offerings. Deliver increasing levels of stakeholder adoption, profitable value creation and colleague satisfaction._

**Business performance** - _Proactively identify opportunities to improve business performance through the use of data insights_

**Tooling** - _In collaboration with the architecture and infrastructure teams develop, build and maintain data technology standards, tools and platforms to implement the data strategy._

**Governance** -_ Own data governance and policies to ensure that the appropriate level of rigour through a control framework is applied to data processes._

**Leadership** - _Lead, grow and mentor a team of data engineers and data governance/data management and insight professionals ensuring they have a fulfilling, fun and rewarding data career._

**Knowledge**
- Cloud data warehousing - Microsoft Azure, Snowflake
- Data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory
- Data governance: a metadata-driven approach using tooling such as Collibra, Attunity, Microsoft Purview
- Data protection - good working knowledge of Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR
- Use of Power BI, Tableau
- SQL (Desirable)

**Experience**
- Insurance
- Building out data, analytics and technology strategies linked to business strategies
- Using technology to deliver pragmatic, cost-effective data solutions
- Building out and delivering sound data management practices
- Leading and mentoring data teams across data warehousing, data governance, data management and insights.
- Track record of building effective relationships in complex environments
- Application of machine learning desirable
