**Trustees**
Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank is at an exciting stage of development and we are looking for three Trustees to join our committed Board of Trustees.
We have undergone a transformation over the last two years and we are now broadening and deepening our contact points with the local community. This includes plans for a social supermarket. We are also, with our Pathfinder programme, pioneering new ways to help our clients on a sustainable path to self-sufficiency.
**About the role**:
Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, working with the Chief Executive to develop our aims, objectives and goals in accordance with our governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.
With the rest of the Board of Trustees, your general responsibilities will include developing the Foodbank’s strategy and its implementation, governance, oversight of finances, charity effectiveness and being an active and sympathetic contributor to discussions.
We would particularly welcome the following skills and experience:
- **
Finance**, preferably a qualified Accountant, who can oversee the preparation of our annual accounts and has experience in managing budgets and forecasts. We have an in-house bookkeeper who prepares financial documentation, accounts, and budgets etc.
- ** Legal**, with experience of English law to provide common sense support (not legal advice) for the Chief Executive, in responding to varied forms of legal documentation
- ** Marketing and social media**, to help develop our strategy in Hammersmith and Fulham and to liaise with our in-house resource to develop and disseminate high-level messaging.
You will have a strong personal commitment to the Foodbank's vision and values. Whether you are an experienced Trustee or taking your first step as a Trustee, we would love to hear from you. You will have the opportunity to use your skills, passion and commitment to help shape the future of our charity and to improve the lives of people in our local community.
**Further details**:
Location: Remote, with attendance at both in-person and virtual meetings.
Time commitment: Up to four to six hours per month, to include taking part in Trustee Board meetings and being involved in occasional projects. We meet at least four times a year as a Board and Trustees will be expected to participate in one of the sub-committees that are being formed.
Requirements: An Enhanced Criminal Records check is required for this role as we work with vulnerable people in society.
Strictly no agencies please.
**About Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank**:
We are the Hammersmith and Fulham Foodbank, an independent charity, and proud member of the Trussell Trust Foodbank Network, providing a range of essential services for people who need help in our community. Our mission is the prevention and relief from poverty. But we don’t ‘just’ provide food. We know that by the time someone comes to the Foodbank, there may be wider issues needing support; which is why we also offer professional advice through our partners at H&F Citizens Advice and H&F Law Centre. We offer free talking therapies, deliver Eat Well Spend Less Courses and run an art class and holiday clubs We believe in helping ‘the whole person’ when possible and aim to respond quickly to the needs we see around us.
