We have an exciting opportunity to join our Volunteer Services team as our Volunteer Services Coordinator. This is a newly developed Trustwide role with an opportunity to be at the heart of coordinating an exciting and new Volunteer Services function within the NHS.
You will work in a creative team having the opportunity to share your ideas and use your initiative to help transform volunteering with a vision of volunteers making a bold difference by being involved in every aspect of our work.
We are looking for somebody who is highly passionate about volunteer management and who will take responsibility for coordinating the recruitment, training and engagement of Trust volunteers in collaboration with staff Volunteer Supervisors, significantly expanding our volunteer workforce.
You will support working with all departments across the Trust to identify and support the development of new volunteering opportunities to enhance the work of staff and patient care
You will play a significant role in building rapport and trust with teams with a new service and providing effective support ensuring volunteer management policies and procedures are adhered to
You will play a part in Volunteer Services being well integrated within a multidisciplinary Workforce/HR directorate, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to promote, develop and embed principles of our workforce approach to volunteer management
We are looking for someone who has strong experience of managing or coordinating volunteering in health or in the voluntary sector.
This role will be key in supporting us to deliver our volunteering plan supporting the workforce strategy at West London.

As Volunteer Services Coordinator you will be at the heart of coordinating an exciting and new Volunteer Services function within the NHS.
Volunteer Services -Marketing and recruitment
- Collaborating with Volunteer Supervisors to coordinate and manage the planning and recruitment of new volunteers to local needs, ensuring the recruitment process is robust and efficient and meets the service targets
- Ensure new volunteers complete all the relevant checks including, DBS, occupational health and references.
- Support with facilitation of the core corporate induction training for volunteers, ensuring all volunteers complete this and assist services with local role and department specific inductions where relevant.
- Work with the communication’s team and other stakeholders to maintain the Trust’s volunteering presence across a range of channels and events, developing and promoting the Trust’s volunteering proposition, celebration and impact
- Support the development of the Trust’s volunteering marketing toolkit e.g. posters, banners, leaflets
Volunteer Services Engagement and Support
- Work with teams and services across the Trust to develop volunteering opportunities and to look for opportunities to improve patient experience through volunteering roles in line with Volunteer Services policies and procedures.
- To maintain partnerships with local, volunteer and other community organisations in relation to volunteering.
- Devise and coordinate a programme of volunteer recognition, celebration and appreciation, including the annual Volunteers’ Week
