An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Peer support worker to work in a dedicated and specialist multi-disciplinary eating disorders service for young people and their families which is part of our CAMHS service. The team was recently runner up for the Team of the year award at the CPFT Staff awards.

The Post will be part of the Trust-wide Eating Disorder Team and will be based in Huntingdon or our clinics in Peterborough or Cambridge. The post will also involve visiting families within their homes and providing support within our home support team. We support hybrid working and equipment will be provided for you to be able to work from home as well.

The team provides an outpatient service to children and young people up to the age of 18 who present with an eating disorder and their families / carers. The service also works closely with our local inpatient units and acute hospital trusts.

- Work as part of the specialist MDT CAMHS Eating disorder team to provide formalised peer support to young people and their families, either in their homes or in a clinic-based setting on a 1:1 and/or group basis.
- Take a lead role in embedding recovery values within the CAMHS Eating disorder service, drawing on wisdom from their own experiences
- Act as a positive role model showing professional and caring attitudes and behaviour towards other members of MDT, peers, other service users and carers.
- Promote personal responsibility, self-awareness, self-belief, self-advocacy and hopefulness via the telling of own recovery story to inspire and instill confidence in peers
- Help individuals to identify and overcome fears and within a relationship of empathy, trust, and honesty. Supporting individuals to identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals and set recovery objectives, utilising a range of recovery tools, techniques, and experience.
