Age UK West Cumbria is seeking a Security Support Worker to join our team

Key Responsibilities:

- Day Centre Support:

- Assist in organising and facilitating activities for individuals accessing the day centre.
- Provide support and companionship to individuals, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Help with meal preparation, serving food, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the facility.
- Engage in conversations and actively listen to the concerns and needs of the individuals, offering empathy and support.

Communitea Team:

- Collaborate with the CommuniTea team in cleaning, meal preparation, gardening and transport services for clients.
- Assist in planning and coordinating events and activities to support clients in the local community.

Teamwork and Communication:

- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery.
- Attend team meetings, contributing ideas and insights to improve programs and services.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Previous experience in a similar support role or working within a charity is desirable.
- A compassionate and patient approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and flexibility.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
- An understanding of confidentiality and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
- MUST have a valid UK driving licence.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £10.42-£10.43 per hour
