Bath and Northeast Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire integrated care board (BSW ICB)s Exceptional and Prior Approval funding team is responsible for managing funding requests received from general practice or secondary care clinicians. BSW ICB "what we do and don't fund" list of policies are split into the following categories: EFR - Exceptional Funding requests - These are procedures that are classed as low priority procedures and will only be funded if clinically demonstrated and agreed through the EFR process. PA - Prior Approval - These are procedures that are funded if the patient meets a set of threshold criteria laid out in the relevant policy. The EFR Assessor will be responsible for managing the EFR & PA team. **The EFR Assessor will be responsible for**: Managing the workload of the EFR & PA Team ensuring that requests are dealt with in a professional and timely manner and that personal information associated with cases are processed in accordance with Information Governance rules and regulations. Assessing all PA requests received against BSW ICB policy and ensuring that clinical threshold criteria are met before approval is granted to proceed Managing requests to ensure that the appropriate process is consistently followed and funding decisions are communicated within the agreed timescales. Responding to PALs Complaints, SAR and FOI requests within agreed timescales. The BSW ICB EFR Team are a small team that predominantly work from home primarily due to the sensitive nature of the requests for funding that are received. **The post holder will be responsible for**: Taking responsibility for efficient running of the EFR & PA Team, Maintaining effective office/ departmental systems and processes relating to all pathways. Assessing all PA requests received against BSW ICB policy and ensuring that clinical threshold criteria are met. Support the senior manager Attend meetings as necessary, report progress and resolve issues. Manage the day-to-day work of the administrative team Lead for the team in the quick and successful resolution of queries. Escalating matters that require senior input. Disseminate information to the team and act as a first point of contact. Ensure that all communication with service users is delivered or processed in a timely fashion and inline with our self imposed timescales. Represent the team at meetings as required. Communicate relevant information to other departments and update the website when changes or new polices need to be added/amended Manage, organise and support staff effectively through work planning, 1:1 meetings and appraisals, including performance and productivity Control and manage attendance and leave, including sickness absent management. maintaining effective office/ departmental systems and processes relating to all pathways. Take responsibility for the training of new and existing staff in relation to systems and processes.
