**Health & Safety Compliance Officer**

**Location**:Offices in Grantham, Norwich & Bromley or Home Based**

**Hours: 38 hours per week**

**Starting Salary: £25,592pa during probation, Increasing to £26,105pa after probation**

**The Role**:
To ensure Ambient Support & Amber Housing meet their statutory health and safety responsibilities. To ensure that the landlords of Ambient Support & Amber Housing complete their statutory health & safety compliance responsibilities by delivering certificationsand fully completing any/all associated remedial actions.

The collection, analysis and reporting of health & safety performance to the Ambient Support Executive Team, Amber Housing Board, Ambient Support Board and its Committees. Supporting the Head of Health & Safety with investigations, production of health &safety policies and guidance for staff and other associated health & safety literature.

**Main Duties**:

- Review fire risk assessments, draft action plans and monitoring progress leading to the completion of all required building and operational actions
- Effective management of systems for the tracking of operational actions
- Collection of external landlord fire risk assessments, monitoring progress of the fire risk assessment remedial work along with support provider actions.
- Undertaking quality checking and quarterly reviews of representative samples of landlord risk assessment actions closed off by managers, recording and reporting any anomalies.
- Undertaking inspection visits to review fire emergency plans, on-site documentation and recording of weekly and monthly fire safety checks and the conduct of fire drills.
- Commission and review Legionella Risk Assessments (LRA) for all Amber Housing responsible services.
- Ensuring all services have a valid Legionella Risk Assessment including all AS sites (both registered and supported living) and where landlords are responsible for LRA’s
- Reviewing monthly water safety reports from contractors to ensure that all recommendations are referred to appropriate persons for attention and action, and tracking the completion of all required actions
- Ensuring that Asbestos Management Surveys and Asbestos Management Plans are in place for all properties owned by Amber Housing and Ambient Support.
- Obtaining and recording the presence of Asbestos Management Surveys and Asbestos Management Plans are in place for all properties where an external landlord holds the responsibility for the production of surveys and plans
- Management of a bi-annual electronic self-certification survey of all service locations for confirmation that window restrictors are in place and operationally sound.
- Establishing a bi-annual programme in consultation with the Head of Health & Safety of compliance audit visits to all Ambient Support registered services and Amber Housing owned and managed supported living services
- Recording of audit findings and the circulation of reports to services highlighting actions that are required by service staff and actions that are the responsibility of external landlords
- Tracking the completion of operational actions, external landlord actions and those required by Amber Housing’s Facilities Management team
- The recording and analysis of evidenced of H&S performance at all Ambient Support registered services and Amber Housing owned and managed supported living properties.

The ability to attend site inspections is required so ability to travel in course of performing this role is essential.
