**Purchase Ledger Clerk** We are currently recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk for a successful company based in Knaresborough. Due to business growth and changing demands we are looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Payable Assistant on a 9 month fixed term contract. There may be potential for this position to go permanent at the end of the contract.

The main purpose of this Purchase Ledger Clerk role is to input and process purchase invoices and assist with several projects and data cleansing exercises. You will report directly to the Accounts Payable Manager, working closely with your team. We arelooking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running, adaptable to change and able to identify new ways of working to improve systems and processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Processing invoices
- Checking invoices against purchase orders
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Building and maintaining relationships within your teams and with suppliers
- Dealing with supplier queries and resolving issues promptly
- Other daily admin duties as required
- Data cleansing

**Requirements**:

- Previous Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable experience
- Good excel skills
- A good sense of humour
- A good work ethic
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to identify different ways of working to improve processes
- Accounting qualifications are not necessarily essential but an advantage
