Office hours: Monday - Friday 08:30hrs - 17:30hrs (1 hour unpaid lunch) (40 hours per week)
**Salary**: £6.83 per hour (£14,206.40 p/a)
**The Role**
- Assist the Head of Customer Services [FFD] in the execution of their duties in support of the organisation's vision to become more competitive and profitable
- Understand and execute the departments vision of good business development in order to successfully Import/Export Land road freight, warehouse operations and logistics products
- Opportunity to learn about international land and sea freight business
- Learn about cross border tariffs, VAT charges and how to invoice
- Complete all Import/Export activities correctly and on time including financial, legal and invoicing transactions
- Communicate quotations to the line manager/sales team and ensure all quotations are recorded on the system in one format
- Implement and improve new efficiencies in customer workflow in conjunction with line manager
- Ensure all reports are generated by given deadlines and handed to line manager
- Maintain excellent customer and inter-departmental relationships at all times giving regular feedback to line manager
- Learn to develop interpersonal and inter departmental skills
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and employee handbook policies
- Provide holiday and sickness cover as required
**Requirements**:
- 5 GCSE’s A* - C including Maths & English or equivalent (new grading system 9 - 4)
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Can show initiative to resolve problems
- Eager to learn
- Self motivated
- Flexible attitude and approach
- Good team-working skills
