Birmingham, United Kingdom Poseidon Digital Full time

**We're looking for an inspiring and imaginative Video Editor to create trailers, teasers, and other marketing collateral for our immersive shows. Working primarily with our Marketing Team, and collaborating with our Visuals and Production teams, you'll be responsible for creating effective, eye-catching promotional films to grab our audience's attention.**:
Experience producing effective ads for social media is a must: you'll know the importance of grabbing an audience's attention in that first two or three seconds as they scroll down their feed, and be able to capitalise on those first frames. You'll understand the difference in pacing and composition you need for social media, compared to traditional video advertising channels, and be able to tune your edit accordingly.

Projects will include — but are not limited to — 30-60” trailers for use in-theatre and across social media; stings and sizzle reels, assets for use on foyer screens inside venues.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Working with our Marketing department to establish purpose and strategy for promotional videos
- Contributing concept / style / pacing ideas
- Creating rough cuts from our shows' assets
- Editing and treating footage
- Working with our Visuals department to create additional assets, text and transition animations where necessary
- Creating final cuts for distribution
- Providing optimally compressed versions of videos
- Revising and iterating projects (sometimes repeatedly)
- Adapting footage and edits for different resolutions and aspect ratios
- Performing other related responsibilities: managing project assets, versions and backups.

**Skills Required**:

- 3+ years' experience editing trailers or similar promotional material
- Extremely proficient with FCP or Premiere Pro
- Creative and innovative, with an eye for composition and detail
- Experience producing social media ads that stand out from the feed
- Understanding of Meta's FB and Insta tech requirements
- Excellent sense of pacing and rhythm
- Good understanding of sound design and use of music with picture
- A team player, equally able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sense of humour

**Desirable skills**
- After Effects and/or 3D animation skills highly desirable
- Photoshop skills highly desirable
