Within the team, we have the full range of experts needed to advise throughout the entire property asset life cycle from planning, investment and management advice to sale, redevelopment or onward sale and leaseback. We advise on every aspect of commercial property, at all levels of the team - and we strive for excellence and empower our colleagues to do so.

The Cheltenham office team consists of three Partners, three Senior Associates, one Associate, two Paralegals and one Trainee supported by the Internal Client Services team. The recruit will be working primarily with Ian Brothwood and Naomi Nettleton. Ian Brothwood heads up the Strategic Land Focus Group acting for landowners in relation to large scale residential development schemes but also acts for a range of clients on work types including landlord and tenant, secured lending, investment sales and purchases. Naomi Nettleton advises commercial clients on complex and challenging property transactions in both the commercial and residential spheres. She leads the firm’s hotels focus group.

**Role and Responsibilities (this is a broad but not exhaustive list)**
- Deliver a highly efficient, professional and creative service to the existing clients of the department
- Deliver advice of the highest technical competence, including in relation to complex portfolio sales and purchases and developments
- Ensure the retention of clients allocated to him/her and further enhancement of our relationship with them
- Proactively seek to work with other Group members in the marketing of the firm’s services and the expansion of the Real Estate’s business of the firm
- Assist when requested with the cover of the cases of other Group fee earners during holidays or their absences abroad on business
- Contribute to the smooth administration of the Real Estate Group’s business
- Demonstrate a background in landlord and tenant work, corporate support and investment acquisitions and disposals
- Demonstrate good judgement and a good legal and commercial understanding of clients’ particular needs
- Understand scope of task, manage time effectively and perform well under time and work pressures
- Be a strong team player
- Demonstrate good attention to detail
- Draft accurately and logically
- Build rapport with clients and develop an effective working relationship
- Attend and assist in organising and hosting of client marketing events
- Be flexible and willing to go the extra mile
- Have excellent all round IT skills, MS Office including Excel and Word
- Provide legal advice to clients in a succinct, practical and persuasive manner
- Manage a substantial and varied workload efficiently and cost effectively with supervision, appropriate to level of expertise

- Contribute to divisional knowledge and know-how initiatives

- Knowledge / experience of landlord and tenant, secured lending, investment sales and purchases work
- Draft more complex documents with minimum instruction and supervision
- Provide client advice in a succinct, practical and persuasive manner
- Financial acumen and a strong commercial approach to legal practice
- The ability to sell the services of the Real Estate Group and the firm
- Engage in client marketing and business development activities including attending internal and external events
- Be confident to work autonomously and as part of a team
