New Product Development in our Own Brand Stationery category has grown significantly over the past few years and we now want to take it to the next level. We have seen considerable growth in this area and our desire is to be the market leader for innovative stationery and gifting collections.
- We are looking to recruit a Product and Packaging Designer who has the desire and passion for all things stationery.
- You will work within a very creative team designing innovate, on-trend stationery and seasonal gifting ranges and be responsible for trend research through to final design. You will work closely with the Head of NPD to ensure that the stationery strategy is delivered through innovative and commercially viable design in line with the creative direction of the Group Creative Director.
- Main accountabilities and activities:
- Must have a proven success in developing both product and packaging for Stationery and Gifting ranges
- Must have experience in identifying current trends that translate into innovative Stationery and Gifting ranges
- Good commercial awareness of competitors through research online and competitor shopping
- Must be able to art direct external artists/suppliers
- Can see project through from start to finish, liaising with Artworkers and Project Managers
- Strong understanding of the print processes for product and packaging

Key Competencies/Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and able to stay calm under pressure
- Preferably with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on product and packaging for retail
- Qualification at degree level in Design
- Illustrative skills and pattern creation would be a bonus but not a necessity
