Sales Assistant

**Responsibilities**:
Customer Service: Greet and welcome customers as they enter the café, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere. Assist customers in a professional manner, answering their inquiries and offering suggestions or recommendations on menu items.

Order Taking: Efficiently take and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy in order placement and payment handling. Collaborate with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.

Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handling cash and card transactions accurately. Maintain an organized cash drawer, reconcile transactions at the end of shifts, and ensure proper documentation of sales.

Menu Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about the café's menu offerings, including beverages, food items, and daily specials. Effectively communicate menu options, ingredients, and allergen information to customers.

Upselling and Cross-Selling: Promote additional items such as desserts, pastries, or specialty beverages to customers, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.

Order Preparation: Assist in the preparation of beverages and food items, following established recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality. Collaborate with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely order completion.

Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the counter, dining tables, and seating areas. Ensure supplies, condiments, and utensils are well-stocked and readily available for customers.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including baristas, kitchen staff, and supervisors, to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service. Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive work environment.

Customer Feedback: Actively listen to customer feedback, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. Seek opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and report customer feedback to the management team.

Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling procedures, cleanliness standards, and COVID-19 protocols. Follow company policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or sales role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations.
- Knowledge of coffee and café culture is a plus.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
