On behalf of our manufacturing client in Essex, Spring Recruitment are looking for a mechanically biased Engineering Craftsman to
Provide engineering support to the Production department to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime. Carry out PPM tasks on a daily basis.
You will be required to
Provide support to the production process of the plant, ensuring all production needs from engineering perspective are dealt with in a timely manner.
Carry out daily checks on all plant rectify any issues immediately report any issues that cannot be resolved immediately.
Liaise with Production supervisors at the start of each shift to identify potential stops. And any ongoing issues.
Participate in the call out system responding as able to callouts to rectify faults.
Carry out PPM tasks from Pemac. on a daily basis.
Work safely at all times use Correct PPE as required
Complete Job requests as issued by the Maint. supervisor and Engineering Manager
Plant Modifications, Project work.
Designated regular responsibilities. I.E. pump house, fire pumps, Pat testing.
Training Requirements
SSD Variable Frequency Drives
Allen Bradley PLC Fault finding
Turning, Milling
Basic Electrical Fault finding
Pneumatics
Welding, MMA, MiG, Tig
Is expected that Mechanical Biased craftsman will have a basic level of electrical knowledge to be able to read electrical drawings and rectify basic faults with in the process lines.
Carry out machining and welding operations to a good standard, to effect repairs to the process lines and machine modifications and upgrades
Have a reasonable understanding of Variable frequency drives, be able to change the same like for like and configure
Good understanding of pneumatic circuits, rams, solenoids etc
You will Work and act in accordance with all applicable HS&E requirements. Maintain a duty of care to yourself, your co-workers and the working environment and pro actively manage Health and Safety and Environment
Hours of Work
Shift work and hours as per contract.
Participate in the Engineering callout system
Shifts will include working both day and nightshift, covering operations 24hrs 7 days per week.
Engineering Craftsman may be required to change shift according to business need.
