This Podiatry apprenticeship is designed to give talented people an opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst completing on-the-job training with our highly skilled clinicians. This is a developmental role over four years where you will work towards successful completion of a BSc Degree in Podiatry and be able to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
To be considered for this post applicants will need to demonstrate a minimum of one year’s experience within a clinical healthcare setting.
To qualify for the AHP Apprenticeship Programme you must meet the following criteria:
- Aged over 18 on the first day of the apprenticeship.
- Work 37.5 hours per week, including any off-the-job training undertaken
- Must have UK Maths and English Level 2 or GCSE Grade C/4 with original certificates.
- Successfully completed study at Level 3 including Science equivalent to a minimum of 120 UCAS points, with original certificates
- Not currently undertaking any other Apprenticeship or DfE FE/HE Programme at the same time as starting the apprenticeship.
- Must have been an ordinary resident in the United Kingdom for three years prior to the start of the AHP Apprenticeship
- Eligible residency status - visa must cover the full duration of the AHP Apprenticeship Programme, with no renewal required during the apprenticeship.

This is a shared arrangement between CLCH and UEL, with the academic part of the training provided by the University you will undertake modules as detailed below:
- Professional Practice and Mental Health
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Podiatric Practice, Pathology and Pharmacology
- Musculoskeletal (MSK) Assessment and Management
- Clinical Reasoning and Research Methods
**Key Areas of Practice for Podiatry Apprentices**:
- Patients with problems related to endocrine and rheumatological function
- Patients with problems related to musculoskeletal function and sporting activities
- Patients with problems related to neurological function
- Patients with problems related to dermatological function
- Patients requiring nail surgery
- Patients located in a variety of healthcare and community settings
