Minimum of 46 hours a week

Fully flexible to support 24/7 Cover. This includes
Days/Nights & Weekends.

Position Summary:
Working at a Rail Yard you will initially be engaged in the implementation of a suite of modifications both electrical and Mechanical on Aventra Class 701 Fleet. In addition, the position holder will eventually be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance,repair and fault finding on Class 701 Electric Multiple Unit. Take overall responsibility of vehicle examinations in line with vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI's). Undertake all types of maintenance examination work to ensure that we provide a safe, reliable,and defect free train. Take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control. Duties could include the following:
*Mechanical Interiors/ Roof & Underframe inspections
*Software uploads and downloads using a Laptop
*Using manufacturer supplied computer programs to interrogate and program parts and systems.
*Carrying out inspections and checks to ensure reliability of fleet
*Carrying out mechanical and electrical modifications
*Carrying out work recording via both paperwork and computer (SAP)
A diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Relevant experience required:
*History of completing safety critical work
*Ability to undertake detailed fault finding and analysis by reading and following electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings
*Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Principles
*Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements NVQ Level 3 award in an Electrical and Mechanical discipline or similar.
