**SEN Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs**

**Start Date**: 09/01/2025
**Location**: NW2, Barnet
**Pay Scale**: Up to £100 per day

We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and highly skilled **SEN Teaching Assistant** to support a Year 1 pupil with complex needs. This is a rewarding role for someone who is committed to making a difference in the life of a child who requires patience, structure, and understanding.

About the Pupil
- Diagnosed with **Autism**:

- **Selective mute** with limited communication
- Presents **very dysregulated behaviour** and requires consistent support
- Does not understand or follow instructions when dysregulated
- A **runner** and requires close supervision, with the ability to use restraint safely when necessary

The Role

You will work 1:1 with the pupil to provide stability, encouragement, and a safe environment that fosters progress both academically and emotionally. You will be expected to:

- Provide individualised support tailored to the pupil’s needs
- Use de-escalation strategies and manage challenging behaviour
- Ensure the pupil’s safety at all times, including preventing running incidents
- Support communication through alternative methods where required
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver consistent support

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism and complex needs
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding procedures
- Calm, adaptable, and able to think quickly under pressure
- A caring professional who is passionate about helping children thrive
- Training in restraint or Team Teach (desirable but not essential - training can be provided)
