**Contingency Broker**

There is currently an opportunity within Lockton for an individual to join the business in a Broker capacity within our Contingency team. This unit will have involvement in all areas of wholesale and retail insurance business.

The role will provide incremental development into a broking position and will entail a range of responsibilities including client servicing support, plus more technically focused elements, in order to fully understand the process of placing a risk.

**Responsibilities within the role will include the following areas**:

- You will be responsible for placing various contingency risks on both retail and international wholesale basis from our Lockton offices in US, UK, Europe, Canada etc.
- You will be placing the following lines of business: Event Cancelation, Prize Indemnity, Non-appearance and over-redemption insurance
- Understanding a client’s risk profile, business needs and exposures.
- Interaction with underwriters - broking the different aspects of each client’s insurance programme.
- Preparation and issuance of appropriate coverage documentation including slip preparation - working in conjunction with the technical team.
- Assisting with the resolution of service issues with insurers and other third party providers.
- Maintaining a current knowledge of cover written by the major insurers and communicate to appropriate Associates within the business.
- At least 1-2 years in a contingency role as either Broker, Broker-Support or even underwriting
- You will need competent IT literacy skills and will need to demonstrate the ability to manage your time and prioritise your workload effectively, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An excellent eye for detail is important in the role, in relation to document preparation.
