**Teaching Assistant Apprentice - £4.30 an hour, Workington**
We are looking for a friendly, motivated and driven apprentice for a popular School in Workington. This small and friendly school is part of the Cumbria Education Trust academy group and is on good public transport links in the area. It has a busy workingenvironment and all members of staff are flexible and supportive. We are looking for someone who can fit into this environment and has a positive attitude and aims to meet the individual needs of all the pupils in their care. This is a truly fantastic apprenticeshipopportunity for someone who is keen to commit to the Level 3 TA qualification and earn a wage while they train in a local school.
**What the job entails**
**Duties include;**
- Creating and updating school display boards
- Reading with children on a 1-2-1 and in small groups
- Intervention work with small groups
- Supporting children with any SEN across the school
We are looking for someone who has Initiative, maturity and is willing to get stuck in and try new things. All ideas are welcome and staff will allow the apprentice to get fully emersed in the job and become a real central part of the staff team.
You will receive National apprenticeship wage of £4.30 an hour.
**Qualifications Required**
As you will be studying for an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship which is equivalent to A Level, you will be expected to achieve a grade 4/C or above in Maths and English by the end of the apprenticeship. **The entry criteria**for this role is a minimum of a C/4 in Maths or English and a D/3 in the other. You will be required to study for functional skills level 2 if you have not achieved a grade C/4 in both by the end of the apprenticeship.
