**The Organisation**
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are: Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’sPark, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park, along with many more important public spaces that attract a combined 77 million visits each year.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other public spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.
We are now looking for a Head of Health and Safety to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to join our organisation and oversee the safe running of some of London’s most iconic spaces.
In this key role, you will have the chance to make a real difference to the safe running of our parks, using your wealth of experience and skills to minimise incidents and ensure people are able to use our wonderful spaces in the best possible conditions.
Your efforts will be central to the enjoyment of our picturesque parks, ensuring healthy, safe recreational activities are an option throughout London.
**The Role**
As the Head of Health and Safety, you will lead all aspects of Fire, Health and Safety, supporting staff to carry out their health and safety responsibilities.
You will monitor and report on compliance and put corrective measures in place when safety compliance is not achieved. You will be fully conversant to all regulations, laws and best practice standards relating to the safety of all that work for, or visit, TheRoyal Parks.
You will also help to improve health, safety and welfare performance, providing support on long-term initiatives as well as developing solutions that address specific problems.
Additionally, you will:

- Produce detailed quarterly accident and incident reports
- Create, implement and review H&S management systems in accordance with best practice
- Line manage the H&S Manager
- Develop bespoke solutions to health and safety problems
- Provide advice on safety policies, risk assessments and risk control systems
**About You**
To be considered as a Head of Health and Safety, you will need:

- Experience in managing health and safety across a variety of business functions
- Experience of working with staff, contractors and consultants to ensure compliance
- The ability to present, communicate and establish effective networks and relationships
- To be educated to degree and/or diploma level in Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- A NEBOSH National General Certificate
