**Area Sales Manager - Chipboard & MDF** Job Title: Business Development Manager - Chipboard & MDF Industry Sector: OSB, Chipboard, MDF, Builders Merchants, House Builders, Timber Frame Manufacturers, Shop Fitters, Contractors, Construction, DIY and Furniture End Users Area to be covered: East Midlands, Cambridgeshire, North London, Northern Home Counties and Oxfordshire Remuneration: £35,000-£40,000 neg. + 15% Bonus Benefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car & Full Benefits The role of the Area Sales Manager - Chipboard & MDF will involve: - Field sales role, selling a manufactured range of OSB, chipboard and MDF based wood panel products - Responsible for targeting 20+ key builders merchant accounts as well as leading independent mixed buying groups - Managing circa 210 national branches and 120+ independent merchants - Inheriting a very well established area with a turnover of circa £30m-£35m, performing well against budget - Working within a field sales team of 5 nationally - 70% of your time generating new revenue at builders merchant branch level, establishing stock levels, merchandising, product training, product awareness and building relationships - 30% Stimulating end user demand for the products by selling through house builders, timber frame manufacturers, shop fitters, contractors and construction end users (creating PULL) - Over time the role should become 50% builders merchants, 50% end users (house builders, timber frame manufacturers, shop fitters, contractors and even specifiers) - All orders back sold through established builders merchant channel - Fantastic marketing and internal sales support The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Chipboard & MDF with: - Outstanding attitude, our client is looking for "can-do" approach, proactive nature, intelligence and roll sleeves up mentality - Demonstrable field sales experience, having either worked for a builders merchants or sold to builders merchants - Ideally from a "commodity" field sales background - Would suit 2nd/ 3rd career move - Will also consider any previous experience of having sold to house builders, timber frame manufacturers, shop fitters, construction companies, DIY and furniture end users - Relationship builder, but also capable of new business development - Product knowledge of chipboard & MDF panels is not essential, as full product training will be provided - Looking for longevity in career, no job hoppers - Hungry and with a desire to succeed The Company: - £200m UK turnover - 600+ UK employees - Part of a larger group Mitchell Maguire is a specialist construction field sales recruitment consultancy, dealing exclusively with construction field sales jobs, construction field sales vacancies and specification field sales positions within: OSB, MDF, wood panels, chipboard,builders merchants, suspended ceilings, wall coverings, adhesives, carpets, interiors, soft furnishing, interior fit outs, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and other associated decorative / interior products.
