**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Team Leadership**: Supervise and motivate climbing wall staff, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- **Customer Service**: Greet and assist guests, addressing inquiries and concerns while promoting a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- **Safety Management**: Conduct regular safety checks and inspections of climbing equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols.
- **Operational Oversight**: Manage daily operations during shifts, including scheduling staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the facility.
- **Climbing Programs**: Assist in the development and execution of climbing programs, lessons, and events to enhance customer engagement.
- **Emergency Response**: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and administer first aid as needed; ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures.
- **Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of incidents, equipment usage, and employee performance, providing regular reports to management.

**Requirements**:

- **Experience**: Previous experience in a climbing facility, recreation centre, or similar environment is preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of climbing techniques, safety protocols, and climbing equipment.
- **Qualifications**: Current certification in First Aid and Safeguarding; additional climbing certifications (e.g., CWI, SPI) are advantageous.
- **Skills**: Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

As a customer facing business, Durham Climbing Centre is open 7 days a week between the hours of 9am-10pm. This role requires working weekends and may require working in shifts so flexibility is required.

Pay: £24,960.00-£28,080.00 per year
