Labourer (Construction)

Due to our continued expansion we are pleased to be looking for a Labourer for our construction and remediation operations team based in the Newmarket area.

**As a Labourer (Construction), you and a Team Leader will work together as a team of 2 primarily on small domestic sites (generally home-owner’s properties) undertaking groundworks, building works and remediation reinstatement.**

**The Package**:

- Permanent contract, working 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday on site plus potential for overtime.
- Salary in region of £22k to £24k, level dependent on experience (pay rate equivalent to £11.28 to £12.30 per hour) plus overtime paid at an enhanced rate where applicable
- Potential to earn an annual discretionary bonus
- 20 days annual leave, increasing with length of service to a maximum of 25 in addition to normal bank and public holidays

**The Role - Labourer (Construction)**:
As a Labourer, you will undertake groundworks, building works, remediation, reinstatement and OFTEC works under direction of the Team Leader, receiving training on the job (and to expand your skill set) where required.

In addition, your duties will include:

- Assisting with spill response, hand-digging excavation works to help contamination removal
- Using power tools to carry out intrusive construction work (and driving machinery as appropriate)
- Keeping the site tidy, clean and safe, identifying potential hazards and working in a controlled manner around the site in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the maintenance and servicing of equipment, reporting faults when identified
- Assisting taking photographs of completed works where required.

**Our requirements - Labourer (Construction)**:

- Previous experience gained in a construction site environment, with appreciation for health and safety; remediation experience would be an advantage
- A full UK driving licence
- Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to undertake a variety of physically demanding tasks and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- A positive attitude, with a motivated approach and able to use own initiative
- Required to provide a basic DBS check if successful and have the right to work in the UK
- Be willing to work away if necessary
- Although not essential, the ability to operate plant and machinery equipment would be advantageous.
