Avery Knight was Founded in the city of Bath in 1972 specialising in Tools, Fixings and materials for the Building and Engineering trades. The business has expanded steadily, mainly upon its reputation for prompt and efficient service. We are known for our wide ranging stocks of engineering steel, non-ferrous metals, beams, a range of fixings & fasteners, plus all kinds of engineering accessories. We also offer a fabrication service and manufactured parts. We are looking for a self-motivated person who works well within a team to fill the following vacancy:
**WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE**

Principal Duties/Responsibilities
- Duties to include regular light, medium and heavy lifting
- Customers orders completed/Despatched within target schedule
- To promote and maintain safe working practices and ensure compliance to Health and Safety regulations as per Company policy
- Ordering Warehouse/Shop Consumables
- Advise Supervisor of low Shop/Warehouse stock levels
- Complete Stock checks and advise of replacement stock levels required
- Assist with Goods inwards as per Company procedures and processes
- Assist with loading/unloading of Company vehicles as per Company procedures and processes
- Assist Customer/Staff with Customer orders and queries
- Assist with retail cash or Customer account payments and transactions
- Assist with End of Day procedures
- Assist with the Security of the Workplace
- Maintain good working practice and adherence Company processes and procedures
- Cultivate good working relationships with other departmental personnel to promote efficient working of the business
- Promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation to minimise damage to stored products
- To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
- To perform any reasonable request from the management team
- Time keeping - important to set a standard required to staff

Hours are:
8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday

8.00am to 4.00pm Friday

with 1 hour for lunch

Holidays 20 days per calendar year + bank holidays & Xmas Shutdown

Fabrication experience would be an advantage.
