**Job Purpose: Supervision and participation in cleaning activities within healthcare and overseeing quality of performance and outcomes**

To supervise and co-ordinate the cleaning activities of cleaning personnel and ancillary staff to meet and maintain high standards on a client site. To ensure that Company Handbook/Policies are adhered to, by yourself and all members of staff that work with you.

To carry out hands on varied cleaning and associated duties as required ensuring the delivery of the specified contract services.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Supervise a team of cleaning personnel on a daily basis at the client site ensuring that cleaning activities follow the appropriate methodologies.
- Provide support, training and guidance to staff in respect of their duties.
- Monitor and organise the maintenance of machinery and consumable stores.
- Respond to client queries and requests.
- Provide hands-on cleaning support.
- Maintain on-site supervisors manual and ensure up to date COSHH sheets held for any chemical products used on site.
- Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are held and reviewed annually or when new duties or chemicals to be used are introduced.
- Submit weekly supervisor reports to Head Office or line manager as directed and ensure quarterly machine maintenance reports are completed.
- Ensure all electrical cleaning machinery has been PAT Tested and is in a safe, clean working order.
- Liaise with the Manager to provide progress and feedback reports.
- Where requested, attend site meetings with the client/contract manager and complete feedback forms.
- Liaise with the ‘mobile’ resource team or line manager to cover any absence or emergency client requirements.
- Monitor and maintain Health & Safety procedures on site and ensure clients policies are understood and followed by operatives.
- Ensure adherence to any site-specific rules or policies.
- Ensure all staff have received site specific training, induction training and complete and maintain records to evidence these.
- Identify and arrange any operatives training needed.
- Report any staff shortcomings to Head Office or Contract Manager.
- Ensure maintenance of cleaning cupboard in a safe, orderly manner and safe storage of chemical products.

**Key technical skills, experience and essential qualifications**:
The ability to take on a wide range of cleaning duties including specialist cleans, window cleaning, carpet cleaning and cleaning within healthcare. Knowledge of using machines and chemicals, training will be provided as necessary.

A good working knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
