Ancora House has 2 inpatient wards, Coral and Indigo. The inpatient wards provide person centered acute care for young people aged 13-19.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to work independently with young people on programmes designed and supervised by a Speech and Language Therapist in Ancora House. To support the Speech and Language Therapists in administrative work such as making resources and programme preparation and to assist the Speech and Language Therapist in the planning and implementation of therapy intervention for individual young people or groups of young people.
You should possess commitment to team working and innovative delivery of excellent standards of work.
**Main duties of the job**:
Some of the main duties of the role include assisting the Speech and Language Therapist:
To carry out therapy programmes with individual young people as appropriate, following assessment by the speech and language therapist.
To ensure that the Speech and language therapist is kept fully informed of the young person’s progress in therapy and to contribute to group therapy activities under the guidance and supervision of the speech and
language therapist.
To support and instruct others in carrying out the SALT recommendations with the client.
To seek and accept support and guidance from the Speech and Language Therapist and designated colleagues as and when necessary.
To attend Clinical Supervision in line with departmental policy.
To be aware of and work within local policies and procedures under the supervision of a speech and language therapist.
