Carpenter Multi Trade

**The Role**
Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently on our contract with Longhurst Housing as a **Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade **in our Complex Repairs team

The **Carpenter Multi** will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch that stretches from Northamptonshire to Peterborough and across to St Neots and the surrounding areas, so travel is essential.

Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm + Generous on call (Average 1 in every 8 weeks)

As **Carpenter Multi **you will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. The Multi Trade takes ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around the tenants

**The Customer**
Fortem’s contract with Longhurst Group currently support nearly 8,000 houses, however we’re expecting that to increase significantly in 2025. Our contract in East Midlands, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with plans to expand into Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Completing works for responsive repairs and maintenance as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner.
- Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required
- Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
- Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
- Affording excellent customer service to client representatives
- Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner
- Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times
- Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
- Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with the Repairs Planning team and colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

- Essential criteria:_

NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent / OR Qualified by experience will be considered

Full UK driving licence (max 5 points)
- Desirable criteria: _Social Housing experience
